Collected Donations

One truckload of donations has already been sent south of the border.

On Friday, September 22nd, Mexico was rocked by a magnitude 7.1 earthquake, leaving many throughout the country without a place to call home or the basic supplies they need to survive. Two StaxUP Storage locations, StaxUP Storage – San Ysidro and StaxUP Storage Chula Vista, have begun accepting donations to contribute to relief packages being sent south of the border. “We are the last self storage facility before you cross the border and close to 80% of our customers are from down south. There is a customer of ours named Marisela, she said she had a lot of friends and business partners that are trying to make donations to cross over, but she needed a place to put them. So I said, ‘Wait up, why don’t we help you out?’” Property Manager Monique Quintana-Padilla said. “We’re sending these donations to the little towns that are most in need. We’re just trying to figure out where the best place is to send it.”

Goods of all kinds are needed, from things as simple as rubber gloves and soap to diapers, bottled water, and of course food. “Everybody in Mexico has a need right now. Anywhere you take it will be really, really appreciated, Monique said. We request that you write “DONATION” across each item and mark over each bar code to help ensure donations reach their proper destination.

We are planning on collecting donations at least through the month of October. Check back here for continued updates and information on how you can help!
