During the early days of Shelter-in-Place for San Diego County, a customer came in who lives here in the Gaslamp Quarter. She was looking to store her clothes with us temporarily, because the neighbor above her had a water leak, which ran down to the closet in her condo and threatened to damage all her clothes and belongings. She needed a place to store her things for one week, while she had contractors come in to repair the problem. We happily offered her one of our daily units to rent for the week.
The customer was worried and in a rush. She had so much going on, and with the pandemic she didn't know how getting it all taken care of would even be possible! When she arrived at our facility, we showed the customer her new storage unit. Since she was anxious and in a hurry, we quickly brought a cart to her car, so her items could be unloaded right away. The customer was so happy and relieved, and we felt wonderful being able to take her self storage experience to the next level.
At the end of the week, the customer came in and told us that, due to the coronavirus pandemic and shutdowns, she was not able to get the repairs done in her condo. On top of all that, her daughter was graduating from college, so she needed to extend her rental for another two weeks while she drove out to Arizona to be with her daughter. She expressed how grateful she was that we were so close to her condo, inexpensive, and convenient. But she was even more grateful for our help so early in the morning that first day, and for all that she was able to get done because of how fast and efficient we were.
Two weeks later, she came in and ended up renting a monthly unit at Ballpark Self Storage. Three months later, she is still a tenant here, and comes in often, and always with a big smile. She specifically told us that she kept her storage unit with us because of her amazing customer service experience. We are honored to add another happy member to our Ballpark Self Storage family!
