“This facility is poorly managed. Today I came to retrieve something out of my storage before I head out of town and the gate would not open. I called and spoke with the management. She had me try different options to open the gate. Neither one worked. So I'm standing in 90° heat in El Cajon, California trying to figure out what's wrong with the gate. Two other cars arrive and they are having the same problem. Finally, the manager says I'm on my way. It's going to be about 15 minutes. At this point I'm frustrated. It's already been 20 minutes. Now I have to wait another 15 minutes to get access to my storage unit. Office hours on the website says 9:00 to 6:00. However, I'm there every single day and I hardly ever see any management in the office. Makes no sense. I asked the manager. Does this happen often? This is a major inconvenience. She tells me I don't have to get an attitude and getting an attitude isn't going to help anything and it isn't going to inspire her to help me. So I was like excuse me that's unprofessional. You're not qualified to tell me not to get frustrated or have an attitude for that matter. I'm standing here 90° heat waiting for some assistance. After speaking with the other gentleman waiting to get access to their storage unit. They tell me they get locked out all the time because the batteries aren't checked regularly and they also never see anyone in the office. I'm not sure if this is going to be a habit or not, but if so I will definitely take my business somewhere else..”

“Super helpful support staff. It’s awesome to have Smart Control to open the entry and exit gates, and the smart lock on our storage unit. Update 7/26/24 While the smart locks are the premier feature I love about the StaxUp storage facility, the staff has also been top notch. My first time entering the compound on Bradley in El Cajon, I had trouble getting the gate to open. So I called the number listed in the AP and the staffer provided support and boom, the gate opened. It’s always worked great every time since then. Moving is a lot of work, and is time consuming. Loading what doesn’t fit into your new home or living arrangement, into your StaxUp storage unit is also time consuming. Our experience at this facility was like anyone else would experience, at some point you need a bathroom. The bathroom at this StaxUp was locked. And there was no smart lock on this one door, it was just a dead bolt. So again, I called the number in the AP to ask, hey, what’s up? I was told, it is supposed to be unlocked, but recently had been trashed, with the soap and toilet paper all being stolen. So they locked it up. That staffer said they would be at the compound shortly and that they would unlock it for us to use. I suggested that they could put a smart lock on the bathroom.. so we’ll see what happens..”

“Maria, the property manager, has not only been incredibly helpful but, more importantly, has been understanding and sympathetic. The customer service she’s provided has been exemplary. Maria has truly gone above and beyond..”
